Background:
We've bought this coffee every year and it's consistently one of our favourites. This year there are more stone fruit notes (and strawberry when cool) than usual.
This is a really good example of a high altitude low ferment coffee. It’s part of the old school of processing that used fermentation as a means to remove the pulp from the seed instead of using it to alter flavours.
La Guitarra is one of many farms owned by the Vides family, the third generation of passionate coffee producers. This coffee was produced by Renardo, or “Nayo” for short, Ovalle who has been working with Vides family for almost 2 decades (pictured above).
With a commitment to sustainability, the Vides family integrate environmentally friendly practices while supporting local communities by building schools for local children and providing sustainable agronomy knowledge.
