This coffee has such a unique taste that gets better with age, it doesn't really taste like coffee.
We recommend waiting a minimum of 12 days post roast for the coffee to be at it's peak. We've packed this coffee in 40 gram vacuum sealed pouches ready for you to freeze. We'd recommend you leave a pouch out in your cupboard for a month and open it, the florals get intense!
The Sudan Rume variety of coffee is very rare due to it having a low yield and being quite difficult to grow. It's an heirloom variety native to the Boma plateau that borders Sudan and Ethiopia and is the grandparent to many popular varieties such as SL28 and the famous F1 hybrid due to its delicate flavour and disease resistance.
This lot was planted in Colombia by Jairo Arcila and is 100% Sudan Rume hand picked at its ripest stage and sorted for defects. It's then sundried on raised beds in a temperature controlled environment.
To increase complexity and vibrancy of flavours we've rehydrated this coffee back up to it's pre export level of 16.5% moisture for 24 hours to give a more accurate representation of its origin characteristics.
Quinido, Santa Monica
100% Sudan Rume
Roasted for Filter
Intensely floral, orange zest, jasmine and orange blossom aromas. Highly structured orange, strawberry marmalade when hot. Sweetens very nicely as it cools to an "un-coffee like" strawberry and orange.
