Roasters Note: This is not as bright as you’d expect from a light roast PB- we upped the moisture to 16.2% before roasting which gives the coffee a lot more complexity and body which balances out the usual Kenya PB sharpness and one-dimensionality (if that’s a word). It’s also from Kiambu which is a much rarer region than the usual Nyeri or Kirinyaga
Farm owner Nganga Githei owns the two plots of land that make up Kamugiri estate. While he started farming coffee at Kamugiri Estate in 1977, Mr Githei is also a dairy and tea farmer. In addition to growing several staple crops, as his farm lays at an impressive altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. The day to day management of the coffee farms is done by his daughter in law, Theresa.
Kiambu County borders Nairobi County to the South and is the 3rd richest county in Kenya after Nairobi and Nakuru, mainly due to it’s production of dairy. It is also famous for it’s production of coffee and tea as it borders the Gatamayo forest reserve to its West, and Machakos County to the East.
