Roasters Note: This is a such a good example of what modern Guatemalan coffees are: clean, well structured and very sweet. This is our second year buying this lot.
Background: In 1958, Jorge Vides, a doctor and the patriarch of the family, bought a piece of land surrounded by forests in La Libertad, Huehuetenango and founded Finca La Bolsa coffee farm. Finca La Bolsa was first planted with bourbon and caturra varieties. The family now own multiple coffee farms that produce exceptional quality coffee.
La Guitarra is one of many farms owned by the Vides family, the third generation of passionate coffee producers. This coffee was produced by Renardo or Nayo Ovalle who has been working with Vides family for almost 2 decades. With commitment to sustainability, Vides family integrate environmentally friendly practises while socially support local communities by building school for local children and provide sustainable agronomy knowledge.
